Being an RA
I like being an RA, but I don’t think enough people make of it what they could. It can be a job or it can be a part of your life. It’s a really boring position if you just do the duties and what not, and no one really will consider your work as significant. But it can be more.
It can be about affecting a lot of people, both in their overall college experience and their specific crises. It’s not a parental role, but it’s similarly important. My residents come from all walks of life, which means that they’ll have problems like everyone else. To know that I can help with and relate to those things is what makes this position worthwhile.
As you may have gathered, my RA job has kept me away from writing this past week. I haven’t really had much time to say much. But today everyone moved in and things went smoothly. This could be a really great year. I want it to be.
