Inane, Pathetic Existence
After my last posting I figured I should be a little more cynical. I came across this comic in the Post the other day and I’ve been wanting to post it. I certainly have plenty to say that goes along with it…
I guess life isn’t really “inane” or “pathetic” for me, but it’s missing something. Last night a bunch of us were out at the Metro 29 Diner after the usual Clarendon dance. Pete was doing some card tricks and Ian fittingly replied: “why are you bothering us with those tricks, all the girls here are married or engaged.” Stephanie was pretty quick to disagree with that… but then again she’s been driving tractors in Damascus since she was 13 ;-).
I’m taking out K to K2 tonight, and M to Avalon tomorrow… don’t you just love how everyone and their cousin (yes, M’s cousin even) has a boyfriend… Oh, and those of you that I mentioned _you know who_ to the other day, well you can imagine how that story ends. Well, at least he’s a nice guy…
Or maybe Chiles put it best last night: “she told me that if she were still at College Park she’d be following me around all the time. But, um, she’s engaged. And there aren’t any girls like that at College Park…”
Nah, I’m not terribly annoyed. I just needed some content to go along with this comic. But it is rather ironic. How many times have you been in a relationship and been like, “look at all these wonderful people, if only I were single,” and then the tables turn?
Life is good. Dance is wonderful. But it’s so much fun to bitch…
