If I were a Girl, I’d be Hitched.

If I were an attractive girl, I’d be engaged. Do you think so? At this weekend’s conference I talked to two girls a lot, both of which were engaged. They also happened to be extremely good talkers and rather attractive. I seem to have a lot of trouble finding people who really impress me with conversation, so this leads me to believe that if I were a girl, I’d be engaged :).

Does that mean that I think highly of myself? Maybe, or maybe I just seek traits that are difficult to find, and when I do find them someone else has already beaten me to it. I’m not saying that I was looking to start a relationship with someone from Texas or South Dakota (as was the case this weekend), but I’m just saying its ironic. My friend Jonathan, who hung out with the three of us, and I were amused that “we attract married women.”

Do you think there are a lot of people who can really debate and discuss at a high-level? Do most people even care? Do you? Sadly it seems to me that most people will accept arguments and/or default to “I don’t know.” Lately I’ve reverted more to writing here and in my journal, and less in letters. I’d like to find someone with a real passion for thought. Yes, there are certainly a few of people in my life who really impress me in that light (especially TS), but those aren’t necessarily the people that I want/need to fulfill that role. After all, challenging and giving myself to someone in that way is a big commitment. Do you have any thoughts on this?
